ABSTRACT: The site of Păuleni Ciuc–Dâmbul Cetății has been systematically researched starting with the year 1999; its research unveiled several levels of prehistoric habitation. The archaeozoological material discovered on the multiple occasions during the archaeological excavations carried on between 1999 and 2013 is composed of 3586 animal bone fragments, more than half of which originated from contexts attributable to the Ariuşd-Cucuteni culture, and almost a third to the Wietenberg culture.

A little less than 400 remains were determined as being part of the Ciomortan-Costişa culture, while a few pieces were discovered in layers of the Jigodin culture, and others of the Coțofeni (possibly).
